On June 16th, sponsored by Jiangsu-Hongkong-Macao University Alliance and co- organized by Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University and Jiangsu University of Technology, the seminar of exchange departments of Jiangsu-Hongkong-Macao University Alliance was held in Changzhou. Jiang Xinya, Vice President of JSUT, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Shi Yunyu, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, delivered a speech via video. Li Xiaorong, director of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Alliance’s president unit Nanjing University, Yan Zhijun, director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Alliance’s vice president unit Nanjing Normal University, Lu Haitian, director of the Mainland Development Association of the Alliance’s vice president unit Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shen Qian, senior administrative assistant of the Global Affairs Department of University of Macau, and representatives of 34 member universities from Jiangsu, Hong Kong and Macao attended the meeting. The opening ceremony of the meeting was presided over by Xu Xiaofeng, director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Jiangsu University of Technology.
Jiang Xinya delivered a welcome speech and introduced the basic situation, the characteristics of international cooperation in education of JSUT, and the participation of in the construction of the Alliance. She stated that the alliance brings together the strength of 38 universities in three regions to jointly build and share in scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, traditional culture inheritance, and to creat a new situation for the exchange and cooperation of higher education in Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macao. She hopes that through this seminar, the members of the alliance will have a deeper understanding of each other, enhance understanding and trust, work together, and achieve win-win cooperations.
Shi Yunyu expressed congratulations on the convening of the meeting, conveyed thanks to the organizers for their hard work and the members the alliance for their support. She reviewed and summarized the achievements and construction of the alliance in the past year, and looked forward to future development by the members of the alliance. She hoped the members will take the advantages, achievehigh-quality development and positive interaction, activate innovation, and jointly building a new model of young talent introduction, scientific and technological innovation, for serving national strategies and promoting local economic development.
In the keynote and report session, Huang Yong, Director of the Mainland Development Division of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, shared the experience of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance. Qiao Xuefeng, associate professor of Nanjing Normal University and deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu-Hongkong-Macao University Alliance,introduced the construction of the Alliance. Qin Kai, professor of China University of Mining and Technology, introduced the preparation and construction process of the Remote Sensing and Environment Professional Alliance in detail. Shen Qian introduced the birth and development history of university alliances, and proposed key points for sustainable development of alliances.
The exchange and discussion sessions were chaired by Yan Zhijun. Representatives from universities in Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macao conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the alliance mechanism and sustainable development issues, and making achievements and creating characteristics of the alliance. Lu Haitian introduced the preparations for the Executive Council, Annual Meeting, and President's Forum of the Alliance in 2023.
At this seminar, member universities of the alliance discussed how to fully leverage the talent, professional, and technological advantages of universities to jointly build and share high-level cooperation platforms, create high-quality university cooperation alliances, and propose strategies to serve the overall development of the country and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
After the seminar, participants visited the Changzhou Comb Museum, Changzhou Random Embroidery Museum, Changzhou Celebrity Research Institute and the Mural Institute of Jiangsu University of Technology.
