School of Economics began with the Management Engineering Department of Changzhou Teacher’s University of Technology. In May 2010, the original School of Economics and Management and the School of Accounting merged to form the School of Business. In March 2022, according to the development of the university, the School of Economics was established.

  The school currently has over 1000 full-time students and 59 faculty members, offering four undergraduate majors: Finance, International Economics and Trade, Economic Statistics, and Cross border E-commerce.

  The school has undertaken the training tasks of Sino-US cooperative education programs in finance and international economics and trade. Together with the School of International Education, it recruits international students from all over the world to study finance, international economics and trade. The school adheres to open education and has established extensive cooperative relationships with multiple foreign universities. It has jointly trained undergraduate students with Coventry University in UK, Murdoch University in Australia, and Troy University in US. It has also jointly trained master's students with nhalt University of Applied Technology in Germany and Monmouth University in US.
