    In the disciplinary development system, Design Science is rated as the key development discipline of Jiangsu Province. In the major development system, Artistic Design Major is rated as the special major of Jiangsu Province; the category of design science (Environmental Design, Visual Communication & Design, Clothing & Costume Design) is rated as the key major category of Jiangsu Province; experiment and teaching demonstration center of clothing design and engineering is rated as the demonstration experiment center of Jiangsu Province, College of Artistic Design is selected as the training station of specialized core teachers of clothing design and engineering in vocational schools nationwide; Fine Arts Major is rated as the teaching reform pilot unit of fine arts major nationwide.

College of Artistic Designestablishes 6 major orientations: environmental design, clothing & costume design, visual communication & design, fine arts, industrial design and product design.There are over 40 studios with 1,042 sets of instruments and equipment in total, including 8 sets of large-scale equipment whose unit value over RMB 100,000. The studios cover an area of 4,230m² practice sites.The experiment and teaching demonstration center of clothing design and engineering is rated as the demonstration experiment center of Jiangsu Province, with 9 studios established below, including studio of clothing pattern-making, clothing crafts room, laboratory of clothing material, etc. The training center of artistic design and production establishes 21 studios, including environmental art studio, model studio, pottery studio, integrated crafts studio, etc. The training center of film and TV animation establishes 7 studios, including 3D animation studio, film and TV production studio, etc. The studios cooperate with each otherto improve the integrated, innovative and developing modern experiment and teaching requirements and help students master advanced skills and technology at the forefront of the disciplines to become application-oriented and innovative talents in the field of design.
